54/365 Oscar Night

Tonight is the Academy Awards and I can't say that I've ever pictured myself walking down the red carpet, but if I did I suppose it would look something like this.

This past weekend I spent the afternoon with my grandmother going through and identifying people a giant box of family photos. I by default have become the family archivist.  (That's okay with me.)  I had to chuckle when we were leaving and my grandma said, I must have been bored going through all of the photos. I guess she forgot what I do for a living. I basically get paid go to look at other people's photos and letters, and I love it.

For me, these are priceless.

45/365 - catch up

I fell off the wagon with my posting over the weekend, so I'm playing catch up now.  Friday night I headed to Ohio to visit my family and on the way I stopped at Joseph-Beth Bookstore to meet with a couple who's wedding I'm photographing in May.  Joseph-Beth is my happy place. I go to the one in Lexington whenever I need a little pick me up or just some time to myself.  The have a great little cafe that serves some of the tastiest treats.  My clients and I decided to order the mini desert sampler. Don't those all just look yummy?

43/365 Feeling the Blues

One of my friends on Facebook has been posting a series of photos revolving around a cobalt blue bottle.  I have a particular affinity for blue glass. An entire window in my kitchen is lined with blue bottles of various shapes and sizes. When the sun sets the light bounces off my neighbors house and lights them from behind. They seem to come alive with color.  That simple act makes me so happy. :-)

41/365

I had every intention of cooking up a something warm in the kitchen tonight. However I didn't have some of the necessary ingredients, and I just couldn't bring myself to go to the grocery. So no butternut squash soup. What I had planned to fix for dinner.

Instead I  pieced together some odds and ends in my fridge and made this Mediterranean inspired salad.

Sadly it was the most creative thing I did today :(

My Mediterranean alternative.

40/365 -- late

I spent most of last evening working on my taxes. Its not hard work but it is a bit on the tedious side.  By the time I turned off the computer last night I didn't really care that I'd forgotten to post.

The daily chocolate

No I don't think I will charge for my advice because I wouldn't know hot to categorize the income. :)

36/365

I have no idea what I was trying to take a photo of this day. I recently stumbled upon this image on accident and I kind of like it.   So how about something a little abstract?

Happy Birthday to one of my dearest friends who is always willing to laugh at himself.

I got caught up in the Super Bowl, so today's post is a little late.

Little Dog was sleeping in her bed and I heard growls and groans.  She was clearly dreaming.  I suspect she may have been reliving an event such as this.

33/365 Happy Groundhog Day

So what happens if the daffodils see their shadows in the snow?  Six more weeks of alternating days of spring and winter?
