Another Snowy Morning.

I love it when I wake up in the morning to surprise overnight snowfall. It's just about the only time I like my back yard from November to about April.

During the summer I spend a little time everyday in my yard, either working in vegetable garden, pulling weeds, or something. But once the leaves fall and all the lush green recedes, I'm done. It seems then all that is left are patchy bits of grass surrounded by mud and dirt. The natural screening between my yard and the neighbors is gone. And with the leaves off the trees I can't help but notice how scared they are by the previous years ice and windstorm damage. Really, I find it all a little depressing.

However, the snow camouflages all of that. Here in Kentucky, our snow doesn't last very long. Usually a day or two, but that's okay. I look forward to these days as a break from the monotony of mud and grey and ick.

Here's my yard as I found it this morning. I still see all the unfinished garden projects and broken trees, but it doesn't bother me as much with a light dusting or blanket of snow. I can deal.

Besides it could be worse...

Remember this? That's right it was just two yeas ago today. If I stand back and compare the two, I realize things aren't so bad.

Happy snowy morning.

What a difference a couple of years make! Wait till you and your dad get the yard really whipped into shape with grass and everything. Glad to see how positive and optimistic you have been lately. You seem much happier. Love Ya
